=Modifiers=

The Voice of God's effects have a multiplier, which is affected by a few circumstances:

* Chaplains gain a 2x on every command they give, being used to speaking for the gods.
* Command Staff gain a 1.4x on every command, being used to giving commands.
* Mimes have a 0.5x penalty, since they aren't used to speaking.

* [[Blood_Cult|Cultists]] and [[Clockwork_Cult|Servants of Ratvar]] gain a 2x on every command they give, since they're supported by their deities, but the text will resemble that of their deity, making it obvious that they are cultists.

==Focusing==
* Speaking the real name of someone at the beginning of a command will restrict the command to that person, but it will also multiply the effect by 2. If multiple people in range have that name, they will all be affected, although with a reduced multiplier (the formula is 1 + (1 / targets).
* The above also goes for job descriptions, such as Scientist, Head of Personnel, and so on. Changing jobs through the HoP won't change them for the purposes of this focus.

* The first word of someone's name is valid for focusing; this also goes for lizard names (e.g. James -> James Brown; Random -> Random-Lizard-Name).
* The common abbreviations for jobs are also valid (e.g. HoS for Head of Security, Cap for Captain).

* Speaking the true devil name of a [[Devil]] will quintuplify the effect. Devils are very averse to gods.

==Protection==
To avoid the effect of the Voice of God, one can:
* Be deaf: what you can't hear can't affect you!
* Earmuffs prevent the Voice's effect while keeping your hearing, although you'll lack a headset. You can make them at any [[Autolathe]].
* Hold a chaplain artifact such as a [[Null Rod]]; the chaplain cares not for false gods.
* Silence the Speaker: anything that prevents speech will also prevent use of the Voice.

These, of course, on top of obvious methods such as being far away or killing the Speaker while the Voice is on cooldown.
