Golems are the souls of the dead encased in gemstone. They retain no memories of their previous lives, but retain the cunning, knowledge and personalities of those spirits. They are completely devoted to their creator, and will carry out any order given to them. Typically they are aligned with the station, but in the wrong hands, they can be devastating due to how resistant to damage they are.

Their toughness and obedience makes them ideal as Bodyguards, Security and Engineers. Their nature of creation means they often assist in Research areas, but due to their slowness, single-minded devotion and lack of availability, are seldom seen in Medical and Command roles.

Creating a Golem

Adamantine Golems are spawned when a green Adamantine Rune is interacted with. Adamantine Runes turn green when a spirit has settled ontop of it, and it can be considered 'active'. Otherwise the rune with be teal, and interaction with it has no effect.

To create an Adamantine Rune, you must inject an Adamantine Slime Extract with 5 units of plasma. Slime Extracts are obtained through Xenobiology.

Traits

Golems are spaceworthy, fireproof, and tough as rock. In exchange, they are slow, cannot wear uniforms, masks, gloves, exosuits or shoes. However, they don't need to. Golems don't need a mask to use internals, and the pockets, ID, belt and exosuit storage slots can be used as normal. They are also free to use hats and backpacks, which can be used to distinguish them if their Creator has assigned them to a particular Department (Such as Security or Engineer). Their armour is incredibly tough, and Cultist and Traitors have noticable difficulty cutting through their hide with their swords. However, Golem skin is treated like armour, and there is a chance that the attack may go through regardless, so Golems should still consider such items a threat. Especially if their fleshy, weak master is around.

They can enter space and wade into fires without concern, however they still require internals, and if necessary, a jetpack. However, in spite of their mineral and ethereal nature, Golems still count as alive, and nonhuman. Be wary of harming humans, as the AI will have no qualms about exterminating you. Golems also bleed like humans, and need to breathe like humans, and can be killed easily with toxins or suffocation. Their inbuilt mask can be their salvation or their downfall, as they have no problems using internals tanks, but cannot be revived using CPR (their face counts as a mask that cannot be removed), and Dexalin must be used.

Golems can be stunned via conventional methods such as tasers and flashes, but cannot be slipped by bananas and wet floors. Their hands, being made of stone, do not conduct electricity; so they suffer no ill effects from being electrocuted.
